Chairs in Media

An editorial publication born from a lifelong fascination with film, television, and the objects that quietly shape the stories we remember. Rather than treating chairs as background props, the book explores them as symbols of comfort, seduction, confession, mission, and power, revealing how furniture can define characters, relationships, and entire narratives.

Working as both designer and researcher, I developed the editorial system, art direction, layouts, typography, and original collage compositions, while recreating featured chairs and objects to build a cohesive visual language inspired by cinema. The book was designed, printed, and hand bound using traditional sewn binding techniques, making the publication itself as crafted as the stories it celebrates.

Created in collaboration with Jorge Aburto Quiroz, Duarte Portela Morais, and Daniela Madaria, the project is ultimately an ode to our shared love of media, storytelling, and design.
